Musings from the centre of downunder on life and faith . . . from a Christian evangelical semi reformed charismatic perspective - usually in that order. (Acts 17:10-11)
Greetings from the other side of the world! I wanted to thank you for your kind and supportive comments toward me on Dr. Olson's blog.
Out of curiosity, do you know of an Australian preacher named Geoffrey Bingham? He was a Reformed Anglican fellow, and one of my all time favorite preachers.
Hi Derek, no problem at all. You said it all quite succinctly. We just have to answer Dr. Olson's challenging question now.
No I have not heard of Geoffrey Bingham but now having looked him up I see he was born not far from us in Goulburn and trained at Moore College which is a highly respected reformed Anglican college in Sydney.
I'll have to have a listen to him on Sermon Audio sometime.
BTW Welcome to my blog. As you can see I don't write here much due to time but hopefully that will change next year...
Thanks Alex! I am carrying on a side conversation with Dr. Olson at the post about Stanley Grenz (the conversation moved to this thread quite by accident). I appreciate your responses about Adam and Eve, and do not know why Dr. Olson took offense at some of your replies. These conversations are always intense!
Blessings, Derek
PS - Do check out Geoffrey Bingham, you will be blessed. He was a wonderful and encouraging teacher, gentle and full of conviction, with much helpful and practical wisdom. Plenty of his books and sermons are available online for free. I look forward to meeting him someday!
I think Dr. Olson thought I was having a dig but I really wasn't. I'm always just trying to figure these things out. And yes these issues always end up with someone getting a bit offended along the line somewhere. Is it worth it? Mmmm!
